Hougang Sports Hall, Thursday, October 30, 2008 – Presbyterian High (PHS) had their title hopes dampened after losing 0-2 to Unity Secondary (9-25, 13-25) in a Group A Match at the 2008 National Under-16 Girls Junior Volleyball Championship.
PHS had a good start, scoring the first point but Unity soon established superiority, jumping out to a 12-3 lead with notable contributions from their #1 and #14. Unity continued their dominance to claim the set 25-7.
The second set saw a lot of errors but Unity made less with their #1 showing a good spiking performance. PHS managed four more points than the first but it was not enough to prevent Unity winning 25-13.
Presbyterian High won the U-16 Championship title last year and the B Division title this year. Their C Division team however failed to make their mark, crashing out of last year’s U-13 Championship and not even making it into the Nationals this year.
Being drawn into the group with the Chung Cheng High (Yishun) Team 1, St Hilda’s Secondary and sister team Presbyterian High (Red), Presbyterian High might just not make it to the next round after this loss should they fall to the other teams.
Nevertheless, good luck in all the remaining matches.

Oh gosh, my photo’s so unglam:/ anyway, as commented, we’re just 13 this year &we’ve joined under16 to gain experience and improve our court skills, etc. So, i guess it’s alright to lose out alot to the seniors? 😀 &who knows we’ll perform better in under 13? 😀 All the best to everyone, hahaha. Cheers:D
we’re just 13, and we joined U16 just for experience.
try asking around, which other school sent their 13-years-old players to join in U16? 😀
This team from Presbyterian High School is just playing for experience, they’re just 13.
