A streetball competition at Kampong Ubi Community Centre for youth ballers under 16 years of age on Saturday November 8th may potentially yield some players to represent Singapore at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in 2010.
Teams of three to four players, paying $20 each per player, have signed up to play although the selection criteria has not been revealed. This 3-on-3 event is the first round of selection for Olympic Games hopefuls.
The YOG basketball event is a 3-on-3 format and the judges on the selection panel will be looking out for players who could potentially represent Singapore at the 2010 YOG.
According to the organisers, this is the first time that the Basketball Association of Singapore is conducting an open national selection.

Why is there a signing up fee required for selection for the YOG team? This is obviously a rip-off by some organisation to get some revenue.
The organisers did not provide such detailed information in their press release.

Lol dont tell me they are gonna select players from the streets to play for the YOG original basketball tournament?
It’s really depressing to see that the age limit is U-16 when i am age of 17… However, i am still elated to get a chance of seeing youth in action. (:
