Singapore is set to face Iran, Hong Kong and Macau in the preliminary rounds of the Asian School Girls Volleyball Championship held in Da Nang, Vietnam. The four nations form Group B, while Group A consists China, Malaysia, Thailand and hosts Vietnam.
The Combined Schools Girls’ volleyball team will be participating in the Asian Schools Volleyball Championship in Da Nang, Vietnam from 22-26 August. The week long tournament will see teams from China, Hong Kong, Iran, Macau, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and hosts Vietnam compete against each other.
Dunman Secondary led from start to finish to defeat Jurong Secondary 63-40 in the 3rd/4th placing match of the C Division Boys' Basketball Championship. Jurong had managed to keep the score close in the second half and came close to narrowing the lead, but a fourth quarter surge by Dunman allowed the 2010 runner-up to end with a decisive victory.
The Singapore Chinese Girls' School survived a second half comeback by Dunman Secondary to win the C Division Girls' 3rd/4th placing match 48-46.
Anglican High and Unity Secondary won their respective semi-final matches in style to set up a meeting at the final of the C Division Girls' Basketball Championship. Anglican High beat the Singapore Chinese Girls' School 51-34 while Unity swept aside Dunman Secondary 64-41.
