In a fitting end to a successful season, Slingers head coach Frank Arsegio sent out an entire team of five Singaporean players in the final minutes of a 100-68 victory over the Philippines Basketball Association (PBA) league legends Ginebra Kings.
The Slingers Challenge this season, meant to showcase the skills of the Singapore Slingers against regional rivals, has resulted in the Slingers trumping the rest of their opponents. They did so again with a dominant 75-46 win over the Indonesian champions Satria Muda Britama.
The Singapore Slingers proved that their win over the Malaysian All-Stars last week was no fluke when they trumped their opponents 80-66 across the Causeway. They had won the earlier game 92-80 despite a depleted line-up back in Singapore.
