Nanyang Girls' High School ended their unsuccessful defence of their national B girls basketball title with a 44-33 win over Dunman Secondary (DS) School in the second-round group stage.
In defeating Fairfield Methodist School 59-38 in the B boys basketball Nationals second round group stage, Unity Secondary School also pipped their opponents to the semi-final where they will meet Christ Church Secondary.
Led by a heroic showing by captain Abygael Koh (BM #15) with a game-high five goals, Bukit Merah scored four goals to Katong Convent's one in the third period of play to overturn a one-goal deficit. Captain Abygael alone accounted for three of her team's four goals in the final period.
