Into the deep…

The day I tore my ACL while playing football is forever seared into my memory. It was March, 2002. I jumped up to head a ball but a stronger opponent out-muscled me, sending me hurtling back to the ground while my left leg was fully extended. I heard two popping sounds echo inside my head. Then the most excruciating pain swept over me.

Clara Wong of MGS wins biathlon gold

Amidst fears of a brewing storm, Clara Wong of Methodist Girls' School won the gold medal in the Individual Senior B Girls category with a timing of 37 minutes 16 seconds (swim: 14 min 23 sec, run: 22 min 54 sec), a slight drop from her previous timing clocked last year but nonetheless still a repeat of last year's gold-medal feat.

Singapore Sprint Series offers endurance athletes more choices

Endurance athletes have a new offering to sample this year with the inaugural Singapore Sprint Series. Consisting of a sprint biathlon, a sprint duathlon and a sprint triathlon, the series provides shorter races for busy Singaporeans who can't commit more time to training.

Biathletes hit the waters off East Coast for Singapore Biathlon 2008

1,941 biathletes participated in the 2008 Singapore Biathlon on a drizzly and overcast Saturday at East Coast Park last weekend. The Singapore Biathlon, into its eight edition, saw a record 2,152 register, a 12% increase over 2007 (1,924) and a 25% increase over 2006 (1,721).
