They have done it again. Tan Yeow Chung and Teresa Marie Soh successfully defended their titles in the Men’s Open and Women’s Open categories respectively at the SAFRA Keppel Quadthlon.
Singapore’s only four-discipline endurance race, the SAFRA Quadthlon, continues to attract a good mix of participants each year, ranging from seasoned athletes, young sports enthusiasts, corporate employees to families. Despite a busy Sunday with at least three other sports events held on the same day, the SAFRA Quadthlon still attracted more than 400 participants.
Singaporean Tan Yeow Chung finished first in a dramatic end to the SAFRA Keppel & Marine Quadthlon after Pedro Robeiro lost his bearings from dehydration 500m from the finish line.
Singapore recently sent its team of top skaters to Shanghai, China to take part in the annual World Freestyle Skating Championships, where they emerged second out of 17 participating countries.
Two of our athletes did Singapore proud by coming in 2nd and 3rd in Battle Slalom and Freestyle Slide respectively in the Paris Slalom World Cup (PSWC) held from May 29 to June 1, 2009.
36 freestyle inline skaters will represent Singapore at the World Slalom Championships in Shanghai in August 2009.
