The Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) men's pole vault record was broken on the first of two days of comepetition. Singapore Management University (SMU)'s Dominic Chan vaulted a height of 4.31m to inch past the previous record of 4.30m set by Solomon Tan in 2006.
