Mok Ying Ren breaks 16-year-old national 5000m record to meet SEA Games qualifying mark

Mok Ying Ren added yet another feather to his cap when he broke Singapore's long-standing men's national 5000 metres record at the Tokai University Time Trials. The 22-year-old National University of Singapore medical student clocked a time of 14 minutes 51.09 seconds in rainy conditions to break Nadarajan Ganesan's record of 14:57.61 set in June 1995 in Germany.

C Division 3000m: Thineshwaran of Bendemeer Secondary wins in more ways than one

Reigning national schools C boys' cross country champion Thineshwaran S/O Krishnakumar of Bendemeer Secondary overhauled race leader Shohib Bin Abdul Wahab Marican of Raffles Institution (RI) in the final 250m to add the 3000m title to his cross country crown. He clocked 10 minutes 12.79 seconds to hold off a late charge by Shohib, who finished less than a second behind in 10:13.56.

adidas today announced plans to launch its very own running championship across Southeast Asia next year, titled the adidas ‘King of the Road’ (KOTR). Held in five countries across the region, and organised in city areas, the adidas KOTR race will culminate in an ultimate championship race that will be held in a different host country each year.
