Marcus Ng and Carys Hor of Nanyang Primary win 1.4km Kids Run

Marcus Ng (12) and Carys Hor (11) won the 1.4km race for the Boys and Girls categories respectively this morning at the Kids Run. Both runners are from Nanyang Primary School Track and Field team and their coach Mr Chu Seow Beng was all smiles as his pupils took the stage to receive their trophies. “I am very glad. They did extremely well today. We sent the kids to this race mainly for exposure (to bigger national championships next week), and also to inculcate an active, healthy lifestyle. This is very important.

What keeps you running? There are many reasons why people run and the list can be endless. Do you run because you simply enjoy it or because you have to? Whatever your reasons are, as long as it keeps you motivated to stay running, that's good enough!

Performance plateaus in running

Many of us have at one time or another said to ourselves, “Despite all this training, why am I not getting any faster or better?” Frustration then sets in because no matter what you do, you don’t seem to be seeing the results you want. And what more, the harder you try and the more you train, the worse your performance becomes.

Proper running technique and form

It is common to have people enroll themselves in swim classes to learn the right and proper swim technique and strokes. However, not many people would actually think about enrolling themselves for programs to help them learn the right and proper running technique and form. It just seems unthinkable to many!
