If you have been following the situation on Facebook, almost 14,000 people have joined the group "Mass Boycott Starhub/Singtel Overpriced World Cup Package".

For StarHub, you have to sign up for a minimum three-month contract that will cost $89.88. Only then can you sign up for the World Cup package at $70.62, the early-bird price up to May 31st. So the grand total? $160.50.
If you are not an existing SingTel user, you will need to pay another additional $53.50 on top of the $70.62 when you get your World Cup package before May 31st. That adds up to a total of $124.12.
Never have so many people been so eager to line up to give money to so few. It is finally confirmed that the football World Cup will hit Singapore's television screens after FIFA agreed to a deal with SingTel and StarHub with just over a month to the start of the event in South Africa.
