Hosts NUS got off to a fast start, culminating in their first goal from Mohammad Ammar (NUS #10) in the 33rd minute. SIT failed to equalise with any of their opportunities on goal. Joel Chong (NUS #4) scored a second for NUS in the 77th minute, shutting the door on any possible SIT comeback.

SUniG Football: SMU captain Lai Kuan scores brace in win over SIT

Lai Kuan (SMU #6) curled the ball into goal direct from a corner kick in the early minutes of the match for her first goal and repeated the same trick barely two minutes later to give SMU a lead that left SIT reeling. Lai Kuan could have scored a hat trick but she smacked a free kick in the closing minutes of the game against the horizontal bar.

National C Div Rugby: ACS(I) beat Saints 25-10 to complete 2nd straight Grand Slam

Spotting clean shaven heads for the final, ACS(I) got off to a fast start, with hooker Gavin Ong cutting through the Saints defence to score a very early try that was converted. The St Andrew boys threatened to mount a comeback in the second half with two tries from Joedan Chan, but a penalty and then a fourth ACS(I) try in the closing minutes of the game snuffed out any possible danger.

NYSI Basketball: SIM beat NUS for inaugural men’s league win

This was supposed to be a recreational basketball league among mainly tertiary institutions to give youths a platform to play and compete in their pre-season, except it’s anything but. The final 68-54 score meant SIM defeated NUS to become men’s champions of the inaugural National Youth Sports Institute (NYSI) Basketball League, but it also meant SIM’s graduating seniors got to “avenge” their loss at last year’s Singapore University Games (SUniG).
