IVP Football (Men’s): TP edge out NUS 2-1 to be double champions

Temasek Polytechnic (TP) blitzed National University of Singapore (NUS) in the first half before patiently holding on to clinch a 2-1 victory as well as the double by winning the POL-ITE and Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic title back-to-back. Two goals in the opening 20 minutes by skipper Jacob Mahler (TP #17) and Jordan Nicholas Vestering (TP #4) proved too much for NUS who could only pull one goal back through a penalty.

In his three years of competing in the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) men’s high jump event, Hairul Syamil of Nanyang Polytechnic has won in 2018 and 2019 but he was still unsatisfied with his performance in the final year of competition. Since 2018, Hairul has been eyeing the IVP championship high jump record of 2.04 metres, held by none other than his coach, Ronnie Cai, who was watching from the sidelines.

Ow Yeong Wei Bin of Singapore Management University (SMU) stormed to a 54.28 seconds finish in the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Men's 400-metre hurdles final, annihilating the previous meet record of 55.40s set by Lim Kok Hoon, then of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, back in 1989.

IVP Floorball (Men’s): NTU seal gold with 6-0 win over ITE to become double champs

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) floorball captain Amshar Amin (#9) concluded his four-year run for the school in style as he finished the final with a thundering hat-trick under his belt and a gold medal to match. The boys went against Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to demolish them in a 6-0 victory during the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) floorball final. The boys displayed fierce domination in the floorball scene by securing both titles as champions of IVP and the Singapore University Games (SUniG).
