For StarHub, you have to sign up for a minimum three-month contract that will cost $89.88. Only then can you sign up for the World Cup package at $70.62, the early-bird price up to May 31st. So the grand total? $160.50.
If you are not an existing SingTel user, you will need to pay another additional $53.50 on top of the $70.62 when you get your World Cup package before May 31st. That adds up to a total of $124.12.
If the cost of the World Cup has truly escalated so much, then why is Singapore the only one bearing the brunt? So it is revealed that the cost of watching the 2010 World Cup for non-sports subscribers has tripled while for sports package subscribers, it has gone up by five times.
