The two teams were no strangers to one another, having met in the group stage where MJC won 4–3.
With a semi-final qualification at stake, Benjamin Ong (#22) stepped up and headed home VJC's most important goal of the season, earning them a spot in the semi-final.
The victory also marks a significant milestone in the school's history, where they celebrate a grand slam – titles in all three divisions in the National Schools Tennis Championships.
Last year's silver medalists, ACJC remain undefeated in the championship after a 66–25 win over ACS(I).
A 5th-inning, two-run homer by Anthia Yuan helped ACJC reclaim the National A Division Softball Championship title.
Kamen Tang's try with less than two minutes to play, helped ACJC pip RI 15–12 to a third-placed finish.
SAJC scored all 17 of their 17–0 semi-final victory over ACJC in the first half.
