Apart from SSP (1st) and ACS (I) (2nd) this year, only three other B Div relay teams have ever managed to go under the 43-second mark – ACS(I) and HCI in 2010, and SSP in 2015.
The previous electronically-timed record for the event stood at 3:26.55, set in 2003 by Raffles Institution.
More than 0.4s was shaved off the 9-year record, as SSP came away with the gold medal.
Joshua's ACS(I) teammate David Tameeris (22.80s) finished in second while Ho Jun De (23.09s) of VS finished in third.
Ethan Tan (#446, HCI) was second in 4:47.56 while Joshua Loo (#153, ACS(I)) was third in 4:48.13.
Joshua Lim's 49.24s timing also went under the previous championship record of 49.75s, set by Singapore Sports School alumnus Jamie Ross Coates in 2008.
Tan Chong Qi of Raffles Institution won the A Division Boys' 5000m in 16:53.68, getting the better of Isaac Tan of ACS(I) who had beaten him in the National Schools Cross Country Championships three weeks ago.
