Joie Teo (#233) of Cedar Girls' Secondary was the first runner-up with a timing of 2:40.23, while Toh Pei Xuan (#51) of CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' finished just 0.54 seconds behind to complete the podium.
Cham Jay Yin (#28) of CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls' and Yin Yichen (#253) of Cedar Girls' Secondary clinched the silver and bronze medals with distances of 9.90m and 9.74m respectively.
The Secondary 4 student's result is an improvement on her second-placed finish in last year's edition, where she clocked a timing of 1:01.26.
Joyceleen Yap of Cedar Girls' Secondary crossed the finish line in 5:17.81 to take silver while NYGH's Noelle Chung was third with 5:20.59.
Tay, who is debuting in her first National Inter-School Championships, covered the 3000m race in 11 minutes and 58.99 seconds, making her the only athlete in the field to finish with a sub 12 minute run.
Silver and bronze went to Phoebe Law of Nanyang Girls' High and Noor Fatehah of CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) respectively.
Joining her on the podium are Tan Jing Wei (#265) of Cedar Girls' Secondary, and Tan Rou Ann (#410) of Nanyang Girls' High, who finished second and third in 15.99 and 16.78 seconds respectively.
This is the 13-year-old's debut at the National Inter-School Championships, and also her first title.
