Collective effort from the runners of Nan Hua High School and Raffles Institution (RI) secured their schools’ victories in the Under-17 Girls' and Boys' team championships respectively, despite the individual champions coming from Cedar Girls’ School and Hwa Chong Institution (HCI).
National Junior College (NJC) accumulated a total of 77 points to smash Hwa Chong Institution’s (HCI) hopes of attaining a decade-long streak as the A boys’ champion in this year’s National Schools Canoeing Championship.
Hwa Chong Institution claimed its first A Division Boys team title in seven years and its first B Division Boys team title since 2003 at this year's National Schools Cross Country Championships, contributing to a clean sweep of the four divisions that the school competed in.
Khoo Hang Zhou (GES #13) had a game high of 14 points while Nowis (GYS #14) had a team high of 12.
Brendon Ngiam (#8) of Raffles scored a game-high 17 points while Khoo Heng Zhou (#13) of Gan Eng Seng led his team with 15 points.
Jia Chen (GES #11) was the top scorer with 19 points, while Gildon (KCP #13) led his team with 18 points.
Jia Chen (GESS #11) led all scorers with 16 points in a losing effort, while Muhammad Irfan (GYS #15) and Wong Yi Jian (GYS #6) paced their team with 10 points apiece.
QTSS #13 led all scorers with 13 points in a valiant effort, while Jia Chen (GESS #11) led his team to the win with 11 points. GESS are now joint second in Group A with a 1–1 win–loss record along with QTSS.
