Nanyang Girls' all-star C Division relay teams were anchored by 80m hurdles-100m double gold medallist Elizabeth-Ann Tan and 800m-1500m champion Wu Shu Han. The girls clocked 50.04 seconds in the 400m relay -- their best this season -- and 4 minutes 15.68 seconds in the 1600m relay to claim two gold medals to add to the five individual ones the school earned previously.
Nan Hua High School captain Phoebe Tay narrowly held off the challenge of Amanda Wong from CHIJ (Toa Payoh) to finally win her first gold medal at the 58th National Schools Track and Field Championships in the B girls 800-metre, while Arissa Rashid led from start to finish to win the A girls race in a new personal best.
Only in sixth position on the second leg, Addeen Idzni pulled one position ahead for SSP, before Celeste Goh destroyed the competition on the third leg, going from fifth to second. Anchor runner Ismi Zakiah then powered SSP home to gold in 4:12.23. Only 0.9 seconds separated the top three of SSP, HCI and RI.
CJC anchor runner Hassan Khan held off the challenge from RI's Joshua Chua, pipping favourites RI to gold by 0.1 seconds.
