The addition of Peter Soo (#4) and Nio Yuan Ming (#32), coupled with excellent defending, helped SMU earn a significant 60-57 win over NTU to knock them out of qualification for the upcoming IVP Games.
NTU came back from their semi-finals loss to clinch third in the championship with a 3–2 win over ITE. Despite ITE's strong fight against reigning champions NTU, a last minute goal conceded their loss.
With this victory, NUS proceed into the final to face SMU.
Priscilla Tan (#18) led NTU with two goals.
The title is NTU's third consecutive with the new shrunken IVP system, making them the first women's team in recent history to achieve a three-peat.
Clutch play from Lim Fang Cie (#28), Alistier Tay (#12) and John Ng (#6) in the final minute of the game determined TP's victory.
The last team to have won three straight titles was NTU, who won five straight titles from 2002 through 2006.
SIM beat NYP 3–0 in the final, while TP defeated NUS 3–1 in the 3rd/4th playoff match.
