Yuan Yuan's (NTU #5) goal in the 81st minute helped Nanyang Technological University (NTU) regain its Singapore University Games (SUniG) Football Championship title which they lost to National University of Singapore (NUS) last year.
With five players on their roster who recently helped Singapore beat Malaysia to the Asian Youth Netball Championships title in Korea, NUS asserted their dominance early on. They raced to a 10-goal lead by the end of the first quarter and stretched their lead to more than 30 at one point in the fourth.
Amanda Lim (NTU #9) scored a game-high 22 points while Shermaine See (NTU #5) added 20 points of her own in NTU's victory over NUS.
Lead by Sean Hoo's (NTU #30) game-high 16 points, NTU pulled away in the fourth to defeat NUS 71-53.
Despite a slow start, Tok Jian Sheng's (NTU #0) game-high 23 points propelled NTU to the 68-52 victory over SMU.
Balanced scoring from NTU allowed them to cruise past SMU 70-40.
