A balanced effort by NUS helped them defend their title, defeating SIM 7-5 in the final.
The positions of power forward and centre were the determining factor in NUS' 49-43 victory over rivals SIM in their final round-robin game of the SUniG women's basketball championship.
Jeremy Lee's (#11) hot shooting helped NUS torch SIM for 33 points, but it was national cager Lim Shengyu (#12) who stood out from the pack with a triple-double of 13 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists, including 4 blocks.
NUS triumph 2-0 over SMU to emerge champions.
With this victory, NUS proceed into the final to face SMU.
The game was tied 5–5 at full time but Kent Ridge Hall failed to convert their penalties while Temasek Hall scored two to retain their title.
With this win, NUS currently top their group that also includes RP and ITE. The other group match between RP and ITE ended in a 1–1 tie.
