The NUS pair of Tessa Ong and Eunice Chew beat teammates Cheryl Fang and Leong Jia Li 9–7 to win the women's doubles title at the Singapore University Games (SUniG).
Both Anne and Clare were part of the national youth tennis team so were familiar with each other's playing style. "It ultimately depends on whoever manages to play better and keep their cool on that day itself," said Clare.
NUS defeated SMU 75–24 to set up a showdown with NTU for the SuniG Netball Championship title.
Throughout the match, both players traded deep and powerful shots that kept their opponent at the baseline.
