U-23 Football: Shahfiq Ghani’s early penalty helps Singapore triumph 1–0 over Indonesia

The Singapore U-23s, playing in their all-red home kit, scored a 1–0 win over a gutsy but luckless Indonesia U-23 side, courtesy of a 9th minute goal by Shahfiq Ghani from the penalty spot.

SEA Games Football: Young Lions have middle-of-the-road record since 2001

Medals have always been the obvious measure of success at the South-east Asian (SEA) Games. Since the SEA Games football tournament was made an under-23 competition since 2001, Singapore have won two bronze medals. Thailand (four) and Malaysia (two) between them have swept all the gold medals since 2001.
