National University of Singapore Masters (NUS Masters) came back in the final quarter to defeat Singapore Management University (SMU) 13–12. With that they clinched third in the NUS Water Polo Open 2014.
Evangeline Poon, 20, will be heading for her first-ever South-East Asian (SEA) games this coming December. She will be participating in Floorball, which will start this coming Sunday, 1st December.
NUS went down 9–20 to A-Team while SMU lost 16–29 to NUS Alumni.
There were opening day wins for the SMU men's and NUS women's teams at the 2013 Singapore Handball League.
SMU were able to keep close early with consistent play but SIM turned up the intensity in the second half, capitalising on turnovers in the backcourt to break away.
NTU rode a balanced attack to stroll past an undermanned SMU 58-13 in the SUniG Basketball Championship.
Both Anne and Clare were part of the national youth tennis team so were familiar with each other's playing style. "It ultimately depends on whoever manages to play better and keep their cool on that day itself," said Clare.
NUS defeated SMU 75–24 to set up a showdown with NTU for the SuniG Netball Championship title.
