Clarence Chew, Tay Jit Kiat, Isabelle Li and Chau Hai Qing will represent Singapore in table tennis at the upcoming Asian Youth Games. The team has been training hard, going overseas for more competition exposure in the build up to the Asian Youth Games (AYG).

400m AYG runner Jared Lim: “I’ll do my best at the AYG so that people will be convinced I am really the fastest.”

Jared Lim Jun Ting from the Singapore Sports School, who turns 16 on June 24, has been the subject of criticism from some quarters lately after a fellow competitor's father complained about his selection in the 400m for the Asian Youth Games squad when his son had beaten Jared in some key races.

AYG 100m sprinter Liang Wei: “I could catch my friends easily in the game of police-and-thief and so I began to think I could run fast.”

Sports School athlete Liang Wei, who turned 16 on January 18th, is representing Singapore at the Asian Youth Games in the 100m. She is the B Division girls' 100m champion and her personal best is a 12.50s from the 3rd All-Comers meet in March this year.
