Despite their strong start, VJC only managed to score just seven points in the second half, allowing NJC to take the 18-point win.
With this victory, VJC have a total of four wins.
HCI completed the race in 3:31.15 to clinch the silver medal, while Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) bagged the bronze medal with a timing of 3:34.04.
While HCI had the obvious lead throughout the race, the first runners-up were only decided in the final metre.
Victoria Junior College finished second in 51.47 seconds, while Raffles Institution claimed the bronze in 52.09 seconds.
Teammate Natalie Soh finishes second in 2:26.70, while HCI's Dilys Hor clinched bronze with 2:32.23.
For Shohib, this is his second year getting a treble. He had also won the 5000m and the cross country titles prior to the 1500m final.
