The North Zone B Division Boys' Basketball Championship is underway and last year's top four — Presbyterian High, North Vista Secondary, Seng Kang Secondary, Yishun Secondary — have had comfortable wins.
The first day of competition of the 2012 B Division North Zone Volleyball Championship saw the traditional North Zone powerhouses post big wins in their Round 1 group matches.
Dunman Secondary emerged 48-46 winners against RI to clinch top spot in the group and will now face Anglican High School in the boys' semi-finals of the National B Division Basketball Championhip.
Anglican High School and Hua Yi Secondary started their National B Division Basketball Boys; Championship with wins.
Both teams posted their third successive wins for a perfect 3-0 win-loss record each. Presbyterian High were comfortable 62-48 winners over Christ Church Secondary while North Vista saw off Yio Chu Kang Secondary by 20 points in a 60-40 victory.
Yishun Secondary beat Anglican High 83-68 to finish third in the National B Division Boys' Basketball Championship. Their game came right after Singapore Chinese Girls' School had unexpectedly beaten Jurong Secondary 70-46 to finish third as well in the girls' category.
Anglican High School were unable to overcome Unity Secondary and will face North Vista, who beat Dunman Secondary, in the semi-finals.
Kian Hao and Larry Liew of North Vista Secondary combined for 46 points to lead their team to a 74-49 thrashing of Yishun Secondary in the second round of the National B Division Boys' Basketball Championship.
