Despite their best efforts, Tanjong Katong Secondary found it hard to cope with the full court defense of the Swiss Cottage team and eventually succumbed 22-38 in a first round Group H match played at the Singapore Basketball Centre.

Tanjong Katong had started the brighter of the two teams, jumping to a 9-6 lead by the end of the first quarter.

But Swiss Cottage came roaring back.

Buoyed by some strong support from the stands, they fought back to regain a 17-14 lead by the end of the first half. They continued their positive streak with a 29-15 third quarter lead over a fast-tiring Tanjong Katong team.

#13 of Tanjong Katong tried to haul his team back into contention, scoring a game-high 13 points, but failed to break through the Swiss Cottage defense when it mattered.

Swiss Cottage then closed out the game with a 38-22 win at the end of the fourth quarter. #4 of Swiss Cottage led the team with 8 points.
