Nanyang Girls’ beat River Valley to win netball group

River Valley High, Thursday, January 31, 2008 – Nanyang Girls’ High beat River Valley High 21-9 to remain top in Group D in a B Division West Zone Netball Championship game.

Nanyang pressed hard from the start and jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead early in the first quarter. By half time, they were in the driver’s seat with a commanding lead. In the second half, River Valley fought back with a pressing defense, intercepting Nanyang’s passes to their GS and GA. However, River Valley could not keep pace and Nanyang Girls’ eventually ran out 21-9 winners to remain top of the table. River Valley must now play Nan Hua to decide who secures second place in the group and qualification for the knock-out stages.
