Temasek Junior College, Wednesday, February 13, 2008 – 2,000 Temasek Junior College (TJC) students and staff joined forces with Mr Bean to support Singapore’s bid for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) bid.
Year 2 TJC student Syakirah Bte Sinin had requested for 2,000 "Support YOG" pledge cards from soy bean beverage and retail chain Mr Bean to do an art piece outside their school auditorium. Measuring approximately two storeys high and three metres wide, it shows a youth standing on the island of Singapore holding up the words YOG 2010. The entire silhouette is filled up with the 2,000 pledge cards signed by the whole school.

Said 18 year old Syakirah, "We started this project to show our support as this is a rare opportunity whereby Singapore can host youth talent. We hope that Singapore can be showcased as a global sports hub."

Mr Bean has made the pledge cards available at all its 35 outlets for members of the public to encourage Singapore youths to show their own support.

Besides pledge cards, Mr Bean is selling 500 pieces of limited edition "YOG Bean" toy handphone accessories that come along with a pledge card each at 10 of its outlets. The "YOG Bean" icon is also printed on all their paper carriers. In total, Mr Bean has spent S$50,000 to support YOG 2010 to date.
