Singapore, Thursday, August 13, 2009 – Brunei DPMM FC have been dealt a severe blow as their footballers Pg Sallehuddin Damit, Yusof Salleh and Rene Komar were fined and slapped with lengthy bans by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) Disciplinary Committee.

The defenders were charged for violent conduct against match referee K Kalimuthu at a S.League match between Brunei DPMM FC and Home United at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Brunei on Sunday, August 2.

Yusof Salleh (Brunei DPMM, #2) admitted to the charges of violent conduct when he confronted the match referee and manhandled him in the 39th minute of the match.

He has been banned from playing or participating in the S.League and all FAS-sanctioned matches and tournaments for six months and fined S$1,000.

Pg Sallehuddin Damit

Pg Sallehuddin Damit (Brunei DPMM, #6) admitted to the charges of violent conduct when he confronted the match referee in an aggressive and threatening manner, manhandling and shoving him in the 39th minute of the match. He was also found guilty of aggressive behaviour when he attempted to confront the match referee in an aggressive and threatening manner along the touchline.

He has been banned from playing or participating in the S.League and all FAS-sanctioned matches and tournaments for 12 months and fined S$2,000.

Rene-Komar

Rene Komar (Brunei DPMM, #5) admitted to the charges of violent conduct when he confronted the match referee, manhandling and punching him in the 39th minute of the match.

He has been banned from playing or participating in the S.League and all FAS-sanctioned matches and tournaments for 15 months and fined S$3,000.

The bans will take effect immediately.
