Choa Chu Kang Stadium, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 — Nur Izlyn Bte Zaini of Singapore Sports School won the gold in the C Division 100m in a time of 12.99 seconds at the 53rd National Schools Track and Field Championships.
Izlyn had set a new championship record of 12.74 earlier in the heats, breaking the old record of 12.75 set by Shanti Veronica Pereira, then of Singapore Sports School, in 2010.
Fellow Sports School schoolmate, Kugapriyad d/o Chandran won the silver with 13.01 while Lim Ying of Nanyang Girls’ High prevented a 1-2-3 Sports School sweep with a 13.27 timing to edge out Anastasia Lim of Sports School who clocked 13.36 for third place.
Izlyn led from start to finish while Kugapriyad came from behind to overhaul Lim Ying at the 30m mark.
This is the second individual gold for Izlyn who came in first also gold in the C Division 80m Hurdles final.
