Coach Recognition Awards 2007
Saturday, 8 September 2007 at the Legends Fort Canning Park

Coach Chu Seow Beng was presented with the Development Coaching Award (Schools) at the recent 2007 Coach Recognition Awards.

The 43-year-old Seow Beng coaches at Nanyang Primary School and his athletes did well at the National Inter-Primary Schools Track & Field Championships in 2006, with the ‘B’ Boys finishing third and the ‘C’ Girls second. Under his charge, Tong Ray Nee was first in the ‘C’ Girls Long Jump event and set a new Championship record. Athlete Alicia Long Jia Ning was first in the ‘D’ Girls Shot Putt event and also represented Singapore at the Western Australia Little Athletics Association (WALAA) competitions in Perth.

Having coached for five years, Seow Beng completed the IOC Sports Administrators Course last year and keeps himself updated by attending various sports seminars. In 2004, he attended a seminar on the Neuromechanics of Strength Training & Injury Prevention as well as the IAAF Kid's Athletics Seminar.
