Coach Recognition Awards 2007

Wushu coach Chua Sze Muay was recently awarded the SSC Development Coaching Award (Schools) for the third year running.

In the past year, Sze Muay has been coaching wushu at various schools including Chung Cheng High School (Main), Pei Chun Public School, Manjusri Secondary School and Victoria Junior College.

Sze Muay's athletes did well at the 2006 as well as the National Inter-Schools Wushu Championships. At the 2006 National Inter-Primary Schools Wushu Championships, her Pei Chun Public School team were first in both the Senior and Junior Girls categories, third in the Junior Boys and fourth in the Senior Boys category.

At the National Inter-Schools Wushu Championships, she coached Chung Cheng High School (Main) student Ho Chang Song to first place in the Spear and Sword events and second in the Sparring event. Another charge, Tracia Lim, was first in the Spear, Sword and Sparring events.

Sze Muay, who has been coaching for 16 years, also mentored Manjusri Secondary School student Eunice Teng to second in the Sword, Spear and Sparring events. Over at Victoria Junior College, she also coached Christabelle Mae Lim to first in the Nanquan and Broadsword events, and second in the Spear event.
