Darshananth s/o Jayaraman from Innova Junior College came in first in the 1500m and 5000m events with a new 5000m Championship record at the National Inter-Schools Track & Field Championships, while Md Aliff from Elias Park Primary School came in second in the Long Jump and third in the 4X100m relay at the National Inter-Primary Schools Track & Field Championships.
Said Christopher Chua, an athlete of the Singapore Sports School: "Mr Remy Gan has been my coach for two years and he has been very caring, treating all of us like his own children. When any of us are injured, he will bring us personally for physiotherapy. During non-training hours, he will call each one of us on our mobile to find out how we are doing. There was once when I suffered a fractured shin and Remy spent a lot of time on me in my recovery process, bringing me to the pool for hydrotherapy. No amount of words can describe my admiration and love for him as my coach, my friend."
