429 people have cast their votes over the past two months for the Red Sports 2009 Picture of the Year contest. The picture of Zachary Devaraj from the Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) has won the contest with 99 votes.

Chosen entirely by readers' votes, the contest started about two months ago. Initially, a picture of Jervin Lim from Maris Stella High going against Catholic High's Goh Kong Tat at a National B Division Boys Basketball match was firmly in the lead, with another picture of him at another game also in second place. It stayed that way for a period of time until Zachary’s picture started climbing up the rankings, and eventually overtook Jervin’s picture at the end of November. Zachary’s picture never lost his lead since then, and has surged forward to win this contest hands down.

In second place, we have a picture of Russel Low going for a lay up during an Asian Youth Games training session. Russel’s picture had always been in the Top three, and his band of supporters ensured that he was never far behind from the leading picture, eventually finishing with 92 votes.
