In the heat of a game, people lose control and many things get said. If you have been to enough games, you realise after awhile that some coaches say some unkind words to players so loudly everyone can hear it.
Words have the power of life and death. If they didn’t, why would we still remember the hurtful words said to us long after they were spoken?
So it was heartwarming to overhear Coach Edmund Tan of Jurong Secondary. Even when offensive moves fell apart and the shooting was going haywire, he would yell, “Good try! Good try!” Towards the end of the game, an Anglican High player scored a 3-point basket and he sportingly applauded. He then turned to his girls who were substituted and said, “Thank you for giving your best”.
Anyone would gladly play for a coach like that.
Without sir, there won’t be me today playing basketball… Edmund Tan’s simply the best coach… =)

i will not deny tt i have made many mistakes broken certain rules… but sir had given me chances, agn and agn…i’m seriously glad he is d coach of jurong bball gals…i’ve realised d rules he gave us are for our own good and can enable us to perform best in d game without distractions…without him, i don tink i can learn to enjoy basketball… looking at d face in d photo, it pictures a hot-headed man, screaming and scolding his team away in d midst of a game… however, behind tt facade, he’s d compassionate and selfless…totally d coach for us(:
yeah! sir is the best! he never fail to give encouragements. commited always:D truely respect him.
